US company Liteboxer is expanding its trainer-led workouts in the metaverse to Europe. According to Liteboxer, this makes them one of the first VR sports clubs to make their services available internationally. The company is less than a year after its founding in March 2022. Currently, 900,000 people are already using the VR application that can be found in Meta’s Quest Store.

“We are excited to bring our innovative VR fitness experience to users in Europe,” said Jeff Morin, CEO of Liteboxer. “We believe our virtual trainers will revolutionize the way people exercise. It’s like having a personal trainer in your home. We are committed to making our services more widely available and bringing this unique fitness experience to users in Europe.”

Liteboxer now available in 16 European countries

The service was initially only available in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain. Sixteen countries from Europe are now being added, namely: Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Poland and Austria. Currently, 900,000 people are already using the app and that should be much more, if it’s up to Liteboxer.

Liteboxer offers a virtual reality sports experience, where you are trained by real trainers who meet you in the virtual world. There are several high-intensity workouts available, such as a boxing workout to music. Thanks to Meta Quest’s Passthrough technology, virtual and physical worlds should be able to be mixed, so that you can see the trainer in your own living room, for example.
