‘Medical Twin’ introduced

door Marco van der Hoeven

MEDICAL IP, in collaboration with NVIDIA, has introduced a medical digital twin with simulation software. MEDIP, which operates on NVIDIA’s Omniverse platform. The MEDIP software integrates AI with digital twin technology, enabling real-time 3D modeling of medical images in a virtual environment. This technology encompasses various functionalities, including 3D visualization, VR surgery simulation, and the extension of medical images into AR/VR formats.

In his keynote speech at GTC, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the role of AI in enhancing simulation capabilities across multiple industries, including healthcare. He identified the integration of realistic 3D digital twin simulations as a key factor in reducing operational errors and improving productivity and efficiency.

MEDICAL IP’s collaboration with NVIDIA over the past three years has been instrumental in developing this first-of-its-kind Omniverse product in healthcare. Their work has received notable recognition, including featuring on the cover of the August 2023 issue of “Radiology,” a leading journal in the medical imaging field.

MEDICAL IP’s CEO Joon S. Park commented on the significance of these developments at GTC 2024, noting their potential to reshape the future of AI and simulation technology in medicine. He emphasized that the MEDIP and NVIDIA Omniverse collaboration is poised to revolutionize medical education, patient care, and the delivery of personalized treatment information, thereby advancing the field of precision medicine.
