PuttView X uses AR to get better at putting

PuttView is a company who delivers books and tools to become a better golfer. Specifically, to become a better putter during your outside golf game, the company now has developed an app for Microsoft’s HoloLens. The augmented reality (AR) app called PuttView X helps you by showing putt information onto the course. It was presented on the 2023 PGA Merchandise Show and will be shipped out in June 2023.

PuttView X is a combination between a by PuttView developed AR app and Microsoft’s HoloLens headset. The app can be used with HoloLens’ built-in hand-tracking technology. According to Puttview, golfers don’t need any other tools or setup time to improve their putting with this set. The information is shown right on the golf course, using augmented reality. Information could be terrain characteristics, but the app can also measure distance and provide information on how to best putt based on green, distance, speed, break and slope.

PuttView X helps to practice putting

In a statement, Lukas Posniak, co-founder of the company, said: “PuttView X is golf’s most technologically advanced training aid. The reaction to PuttView X was incredible and that’s a testament to our team of engineers, who did brilliant work to turn what was once a dream into reality.” Christoph Pregizer, co-founder of the company and avid golfer, continued: “PuttView X’s ability to instantly read any green, anywhere in the world has the potential to change the way we practice putting.”

Golfers who want some aid during their game, need to wait a bit before this setup will be delivered. The headset and app can be pre-ordered online, but the augmented reality glasses will begin shipping in June 2023. The cost of PuttView X, including the HoloLens, is 14,480 dollars. Those who pre-order get a discount of 500 dollar upon final purchase. Golfers who can’t wait, can also start with indoor AR setup.
