Futureverse, an AI and metaverse company, has announced a collaboration with Ernest Cline, author of “Ready Player One,” to form Readyverse Studios. The new studio aims to create a metaverse destination for fans to engage with various stories and intellectual properties.
The studio, founded by Futureverse co-founders Shara Senderoff and Aaron McDonald, along with Ernest Cline and “Ready Player One” film producer Dan Farah, plans to build a platform in the virtual world. In an interview with GamesBeat, the founders expressed their goal to establish an open metaverse, free from dominance by any single company. They aim to bring the world of “Ready Player One” into the virtual realms of the metaverse, leveraging Web3, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies.
Readyverse Studios has announced the 2024 launch of The Readyverse, an interactive platform consisting of interconnected digital experiences. Their first major rights agreement is with Warner Bros. Discovery to bring the “Ready Player One” franchise to the metaverse. Additionally, Readyverse Studios holds exclusive Web3 rights to all future intellectual properties from Ernest Cline.
The studio’s plan is to create a multi-world, multi-IP, interoperable open metaverse experience accessible to a broad audience. This initiative aligns with the vision of the open metaverse, emphasizing principles like provable digital ownership, community-owned infrastructure, decentralization, security, and interoperability. The Readyverse will utilize Futureverse’s technology, which has been in development for over five years.
