Rokid Max AR glasses

Rokid, a Chinese AR company, announced its new Rokid Max AR glasses. With these glasses, users can experience a viewing experience as they would have in a movie theatre. The glasses show a 215-inch screen that is viewed from 6 meters away. According to Rokid, the glasses that are an iteration from the Rokid Air AR glasses, allow commuters to make the most of their time.

Equivalent to a 215-inch large screen viewed from 6 meters away, the Rokid Max AR glasses offer users the optimal viewing experience as if sitting in the best position in a movie theater. According to Rokid, users are craving for cinematic big-screen experiences without actually going to the theatre. Also, when people are gaming, they want to experience a high level of immersion, something that is not achieved with a phone or computer screen.

Rokid Max builds on the success of Rokid Air AR glasses. The 215-inch borderless screen is 50% larger than its predecessor and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Hui Du, Head of Rokid’s Hardware Design Center, says: “These AR glasses allow commuters to make the most of their time – to enjoy a large screen for watching movies, playing games, browsing, or getting work done, without carrying bulky and expensive computers, hosts, and displays.”

Rokid Max AR glasses have a sharper picture quality

The new glasses should be easier on the eyes. Also, Rokid Max offers a field of vision (FoV) of around 50 degrees. This allows users to have a centered view, whether they are sitting, lying down, walking, or exercising. On the one hand, the AR glasses offer a sharper picture quality, thanks its 1920*1080P Micro OLED resolution and 600-nit peak brightness. On the other hand, forward light leakage is reduced by 90%.

In addition, Rokid Max now supports HDCP, allowing users to watch a wide range of movies and TV shows worldwide, including various streaming services, subverting the idea that these glasses have limited access to digital copyrights. The glasses can be adjusted from 0.00 to -6.00 degrees to accommodate varying eyesight needs. Also, the glasses are tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland and passes the Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Eye Comfort test.
