VR Experience

During the opening of the new KPN telco store in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, visitors could participate in the Security VR Experience. By entering this experience, participants discovered whether their data is safe. This is in line with the store’s new concept, which revolves around experiencing the latest technologies and innovations. It should become a meeting place for everyone with an interest in IT, security and innovation.

The new store in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, is the first store with the latest store formula by the Dutch telco KPN. The store is all about experience. Consumers and entrepreneurs come together in the store to see and experience the latest technologies and innovations. That is why enough attention was paid during the opening to the experience of new technologies, such as virtual reality, AI, and gaming.

Security VR Experience: are you safe?

First, visitors could participate in the Security VR Experience. In the virtual world, the participants did various assignments to discover whether their company and personal data are safe. Participation during the opening day showed that there is still plenty to do to make entrepreneurs and consumers aware of the dangers of cybercrime.

An artificial intelligence (AI) artist was also present to design the perfect background for entrepreneurs for their online meetings. Gamers were also invited to play football at premier league level in the KPN E-Sports Gaming truck against well-known PSV eDivision players Ali Riza Aygun and Dennis Verhoeven. The KPN eDivision is the Dutch competition for players of FIFA computer games.

Start online, buy in store

The new store formula has been developed to connect the online experience with the physical store. Their own research shows that 94 percent of buyers start their search online, but they also want personal advice and experience the product. But once in the store, they also want to be inspired about, for example, security, digital workplace and gaming. That is why KPN also gives workshops and inspiration sessions here.
