Xvisio Technology has teamed up with STMicroelectronics to enhance their AR glasses. Xvisio Seerlens One is a product for enterprise usage. Where Xvisio delivers XR core perception and tracking technology, ST delivers image sensor and IMU technologies. The glasses also include free form prism optics from Epson. “We are extremely excited to work with ST on this new model of Seerlens One AR glasses”, says John Lin, CEO of Xvisio.
The new augmented reality (AR) glasses were presented at the SPIE AR/VR/MR conference. Also, the partnership between Xvisio and STMicroelectronics was introduced during the conference. Especially, the sensor technologies from ST are critical to the performance of these new glasses. Now, Xvisio Seerlens Onse should support off-the-shelft mobile phones, PCs and Xvisio R computing units.
AR glasses especially made for enterprise
The AR glasses are durable, lightweight and comfortable to wear, says Xvisio. It has built-in microphone with AI noise cancellation and the ability to recognize 25-joint hand gestures enable natural human-machine interaction. It works with Windows, Ubuntu and Android devices supported by the AR foundation SDK from Xvisio for content development. The AR glasses should especially be suitable for field services, medical surgery, manufacturing SOP assist, remote assistance, logistics and transportation, and virtual collaborations and meetings.
“We are extremely excited to work with ST on this new model of SeerLens One product series. ST’s BSI global-shutter image sensor and IMU devices with AI enhanced the performance of the 6DOF tracking in many challenging industrial environments,” said John Lin, founder and CEO of Xvisio Technology. “SeerLens One offers very compelling values to our enterprise customers who need more advanced 6DOF interaction capabilities than the basic HUD (Heads-up Display) products in the market at a much more affordable price.”
